Crime analyst of the Sandton police says murder and attempted dropped by 100%

Captain Pulame Manzini of the Sandton Police Station mentions in detail areas which were affected by crime activities in the area of Sector 2 during a CPF meeting on August 4.

During the recent Sector 2 Community Police Forum (CPF) meeting which was held at the St Michael’s Church, Captain Pulame Manzini of the Sandton Police Station delivered the station’s reported crime activities.

Participants who attended the meeting on August 4 were given an overview of which crime activities have been affecting their areas. Crime analyst of the Sandton police Captain Pulame shared with participants the crimes that were reduced in the month on July.

“We evaluated which reported crimes increased or decreased at the end of July based on a comparison with June. Murder and attempted murder around the Sector 2 areas went down by a 100% which we are happy to see. Theft out of a motor vehicle dropped to 34.5% followed by business burglaries which was 35.3%.”

Despite the positive trends, Captain Pulame shared the other half of the crime statics in the areas which focused on the incline of specific crime activities. “Sexual offences increased by 25% followed by common robberies at 16.7%.”

Areas such as Bryanston and Paulshof were faced with a predicament of theft of motor vehicle – specifically at the corner of Stone Haven Street and Witkoppen Road.

Pulame urged residents to assist the Sandton police officials by reporting criminal activities affecting their areas. She further advised community members to always be on the lookout when driving late.
