Rotary Club celebrates women from all over

Charlotte Khoza hosts her first event as the president of the Rotary E-Club Southern Africa D9400 after her induction at the Bryanston Country Club.

President of the Rotary E-Club Southern Africa D9400 Charlotte Khoza recently hosted a high tea highlighting the celebration of women.

After her induction back in July at the Bryanston Country Club, Khoza hosted her first event as the president of the prestigious club with her team on August 9. The function, ‘Let’s Empower Women High Tea’, took place at the Secret Tea Garden situated in Fourways.

Guests of the Rotary Club high tea share their thoughts on the current state of the country at their Women’s Day celebration on August 9.

”It is very liberating to have powerful women gathered here under the umbrella of Rotary. Finding ways to support and stand for one another and empower each other. In the words of the esteemed Oprah Winfrey, ‘when women put their heads together powerful things happen’,” said Khoza.

During the course of the high tea celebration, speakers touched on women empowerment issues in today’s society. Well-known actress Keabetswe Mashugane led the discussions as the master of ceremonies.

She welcomed prominent women such as Dr Lee-Ann Modley, senior lecturer in geography at the University of Johannesburg and Dr Miriam Sha, director and founder of Awakening Excellence.

Mahlaku Nkuna, Annemarie Mostert and Rotary E-Club president of Southern Africa Charlotte Khoza celebrate women.

”I believe that as we empower ourselves and assume every bit of responsibility to do so, we are empowering and building a new nation of women and men, said the CEO and founder of the Woman of Stature Foundation, Charlotte du Plessis.
