Bryanston Primary hopes to revive its Car Seats for Kids Campaign

Following a recent handover to the Wheel Well organisation, Bryanston Primary School appeals to the community to donate any old unused car seats towards its Car Seats for Kids Campaign.

Bryanston Primary School’s Car Seats for Kids Campaign continues to make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

In a recent handover, the school’s Tania Roman handed over more car seats that were donated by the Bryanston Primary family to Wheel Well’s Peggie Mars.

According to Roman, who oversees the school’s scholar patrol and road safety initiative, the campaign is aimed at assisting the organisation as it continues to drive the important message of road safety for children.

“Their [Wheel Well] work for children in road safety has expanded to include children in public transport and children as pedestrians, therefore the school saw it a necessity to partner with Wheel Well in order to assist in this community outreach project.”

Mars will also be assisting the school by speaking to learners at assemblies on a regular basis on road safety awareness.

“Since [the campaign launched in] 2016, we have had a good response from our parents, but we need more assistance in collecting as many car seats as we can, in order to make a difference in the lives of little ones out there, to keep them safe,” added Roman.

Roman added that the car seat collections have slowed down as a result of the pandemic, motivating the school to revive its donations and reach out to more members of the community as well as relevant organisations.

“We have continued to accept car seat donations and hope to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic stronger and better at what we do – serving our community in road safety for our children, in collaboration with Wheel Well.

“We are inviting parents to donate their old unused car seats to people in need. These car seats will be refurbished, and safety checks done in collaboration with Wheel Well, in order to assist people in need,” Roman said.
