A night of musical nostalgia with Inanda actress

Back by popular demand, local musical actress Kate Normington’s Storm in a B-Cup returns to the Theatre On The Square from July 26 to August 6.

Back by popular demand, Kate Normington’s Storm in a B-Cup returns to wow audiences at the Theatre On The Square from July 26 to August 6.

Everyone is invited for a special evening of song and smiles with one of South Africa’s award-winning and leading musical theatre actresses.

According to the Inanda resident, the feedback from the first show earlier this year was incredibly positive as many seemed to enjoy the trip down memory lane and were often surprised by some of the stories that she told.

“I think the material is relatable to most people who remember the shows I have performed in over the years including recent productions. It’s a nostalgic evening and there is nothing better to warm the cockles of new and old memories on a wintry night. People laughed and cried. I hope for all the right reasons!”

Directed by Russel Savadier, with the musical direction of pianist Rowan Bakker, the second instalment of Storm in a B-Cup will see a few new songs join the production, bringing it to life and brightening up the piece. “[But] you have to come and see it if you want to know what they are,” said Normington.

She added that she is most looking forward to the exchange of energy as the theatre is such a ‘capricious mistress’. “Some nights she [the theatre] is dazzling and others, she barely heats the plate. But it’s always exciting to see what happens. It’s different every night, well not too different from the performer. That’s the magic of live theatre – you never know what will happen.”

Bookings for Storm in a B-Cup can be made on Computicket.
