Sweat, tears and hockey at Sandton Action Sports

Each second was vital and the members of the yellow thunders (EY) took every possible opportunity to get a win, however, they came short of one goal as they ended in a 4–3 victory against Above Average.

The competitive hockey winter season at Sandton Action Sports arena continues to amaze spectators with great displays of shooting precision and skills.

Participants, Above Average who have slightly been above average in the season, went toe to toe against Ernst & Young (EY) in their league clash on June 14.

Above Average player Brace Duncan scored two of her team’s four goals in the first half of the game for a 4–1 lead. The energy and dynamic quickly changed in the second half as EY realised that they were still in the game. Each second was vital and the members of the ‘yellow thunders’ (EY) took every possible opportunity to get a win, however, they came short with the match ending in a 4–3 victory for Above Average.

“We are currently above average on the table and we are pushing to be great and have fun. We do have our fair share of wins and losses, but I am very pleased that we played better than what I expected. It was a close one,” said Nati Trassierra, captain of Above Average.
