The Entrepreneurship to the Point programme continues to work toward creating economic inclusion through entrepreneurship.
Created by Sandton Central-based business incubator Property Point, the programme hosted its second of three round-table discussions for local entrepreneurs with a passion for sustainability on May 31.
In partnership with Bruichladdich, the theme for this event was ‘Sustainable Fashion’.
The keynote discussions were delivered by creative entrepreneurs Craig Jacobs, founder of Africa’s foremost ethical and sustainable label Fundudzi, and creative director and founder of Ephymol menswear fashion label Ephraim Molingoane.
South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (Sapvia) CEO Dr Rethabile Melamu, with 15 years’ of experience in chemical and environmental engineering, also provided expert opinion.
At each of the three events, three entrepreneurs have the opportunity to present their business models to industry leaders who in turn, provide them with expert advice on how to make their businesses more environmentally sustainable.
After all three events, one of the nine entrepreneurs will be awarded R50 000 in funding to implement their proposed business models.
