New season and new teams at the Sandton Action Sports arena for dodgeball

With over eight current teams in total, Sandton Action Sport continues to welcome new teams to the dodgeball mayhem.

As winter approaches, hiding red marks and plastic grass burns from getting hit and dodging balls will be a lot harder than usual. Sandton Action Sports recently welcomed back players and dodgeball fanatics to the new season.

An abundance of individuals took to the indoor courts to settle a couple of scores. No presence of intimidation was shown on May 24 as teams battled it out. One team, in particular, Ernst and Young (EY), stood out the most as they dominated a few of their games with ease and swagger.

According to spectators, the biggest highlight of the evening was during a match between EY Sharks and Sips Ballers. A player from EY Sharks took two individuals out with only one hit.

“The season has both been rewarding and a bit challenging, said Rodney Benganga of the EY Sharks.
“We lost a couple of games but it’s all in the name of fun. Our strategy throughout the course of the league has been to target the best players in the opposition first and then hope for the best.

“Another great strategy is that we all shoot together when targeting one individual.”
