Four arrested for attempted murder in Marlboro

Four suspects were arrested at an informal settlement in Marlboro for attempted murder.

Bramley police recently arrested four suspects for attempted murder in Marlboro.

According to spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, the suspects were arrested after allegedly exchanging gunfire with the complainant.

“On Monday May 23 at about 10:00, the complainant called the police to Marlboro informal settlement, alleging that he was shot at by four men.”

Information given to the police stated that a fight broke out over a shack that was allegedly built by the suspects near a workshop belonging to the complainant.

“It is alleged further that the complainant and his workers were demolishing the shack when four men arrived [and a] shoot-out started, but no one was injured,” said Mogodi.

In addition to the arrest, Bramley police seized two licensed firearms.

While the case remains under investigation, Mogodi warns firearm owners to abide by the Firearms Control Act.

“Exercise caution before using them [firearms] or else people might find themselves facing the full might of the law.”
