Alleged drug dealer arrested in Marlboro

Bramley police recently arrested a 31-year-old man in Marlboro for alleged drug dealing and possession.

A 31-year-old man was recently arrested by Bramley police for alleged drug dealing and possession in Marlboro.

While officers were carrying out crime prevention duties on May 16, they noticed suspicious activity involving the suspect on the corner of 4th Avenue and 2nd Street.

According to Bramley police spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, officers stopped and searched the suspect as well as the bag that he was carrying.

“The police found small zip bags containing dagga as well as a substance suspected to be drugs in the form of tablets, nyaope and money.”

Mogodi added that the suspect was questioned but was unable to provide officers with a reasonable explanation for the possession of illicit goods.

Officers made the arrest and the suspect was detained at Bramley Police Station.

“He [the suspect] will appear in court soon. Bramley police will continue to fight crime with the aim of ensuring the safety of society from the drug dealers.”

Mogodi shared the following safety tips for the community:

  • Alcohol and drug abuse kills
  • Drugs are substances which may have intoxicating, performance enhancing or other effects when consumed, so stay away from them
  • Do not believe everything that you hear from the drug dealers
  • Much of what you hear about drugs actually comes from those selling them. They never talk bad about the use of drugs. The truth is, drugs will ruin your life
  • Get the facts about drugs and make your own decisions.
