Alice in Wonderland makes her way to Michael Mount

Grade 11 learners of Michael Mount showcased their acting skills, performing Alice in Wonderland

Learners of Michael Mount Waldorf School were literally and figuratively given the spotlight to display their acting skills to the Bryanston community in early May in their annual play.

Grade 11 learners performed the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland from May 11 to 13.

Marketing and communication director at the school Christina Seuffert said the learners were shown support throughout their preparations from their peers, parents, and teachers.

The curriculum for Michael Mount’s Grade 11 learners focuses on the development of their communication, critical thinking and self expression.

“The students are given a lot of freedom in putting together the performance, and each individual’s strengths and personalities truly shine through in the roles they choose to embody. Many of the students are filled with a new, mature sense of confidence, which shines through while they are on stage,” said Seuffert.

“We are incredibly proud of our Grade 11 learners and the wonderful show that they presented. From the music, costumes, set and lighting, to the captivating performances by the cast, it was an absolute treat to watch.”
