Sleepless nights of KZN campaign, borehole, food and winter warm drive

Founder of the Hope SA Foundation based in Rivonia, Namritha Sivsanker, states that her biggest highlight during her time of helping communities in KwaZulu-Natal was when Krispy Kreme sprinkled some Easter magic with their donation.

Within the five months of 2022, South Africa has faced numerous unfortunate events such as the KwaZulu-Natal flood disaster which forced individuals, schools and organisations to come together as one in hopes of rebuilding the province.

Rivonia resident and founder of the Hope SA Foundation, Namritha Sivsanker, wasted no time in helping individuals from KZN once she received calls and messages of the flood disaster.

Sivsanker and her team were extremely eager on setting their foot on the soils of KZN in hopes of assisting the people.

“The day after the floods I sat with my phone from 09:00 to 21:00 answering calls from people in distress. Our first visit that we made was to the Jabulani Community Hall in Phoenix where people were not attended for days. We were able to assist them with blankets, mattresses, clothes, water and cooked food,” said Sivsanker on her first KZN visit after the disaster.

The founder of Hope SA Foundation did not turn a blind eye to the needs of the people especially when it came to the shortage of fresh water, “we have been purchasing water to give to the people. To date we have done over 100 000 litres of water and donated water tanks to a few schools and churches.”

She stated that her biggest highlight from her frequent visits to the province was teaming up with Krispy Kreme to spark up some magic, “when loading off blankets, I saw a Krispy Kreme office across the road. I hand no plan but to ask them if they could assist us in any possible way that they could. To my surprise the marketing representative was more than willing to help.

I thank Krispy Kreme for their generous donation of 600 Krispy Kreme donuts that filled the hearts of children during Easter.”

Although her main priority is restoring KwaZulu-Natal to its full beauty, she still avails herself in doing food drives to a few places such as Brixton and has recently started her winter warm drive campaign with Rivonia Village. Sivsanker thanks the support from individuals, schools, Rivers church and a few companies for providing the essential goods.
