Imbumba Foundation and West Pack Lifestyle continue to change lives with partnership
Sandton-based organisation Imbumba Foundation celebrates their one year partnership with West Pack Lifestyle by distributing 200 000 units of sanitary pads to schools.
After reaching a one-year milestone partnership with retail company West Pack Lifestyle, Imbumba Foundation’s programme, Caring4Girls was able to distribute sanitary towels worth R2 million to girls in need.
Based in Sandton, the foundation’s campaign has been running for 10 years and focuses on tackling period poverty through the provision of pads, menstrual hygiene and puberty education. The foundation has been able to do so by distributing its own branded sanitary towels.
“The partnership between the Imbumba Foundation and West Pack Lifestyle has been a fruitful one. I remember that when we launched out retail partnership with them, their target was to reach over 100 000 sanitary pads in one year. We are grateful for this partnership as it allows for the sustainability of the programme and empowers girl children by keeping them in school,” said the founder of Imbumba Foundation Richard Mabaso.
The collaboration between the two managed to double the initial goal to 200 000 units of towels. Representatives of both entities together with Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa visited Far North Secondary School in Cosmo City on May 18 to distribute some of the sanitary towels to the learners.
“It’s been a real honour to be part of the Caring4Girls partnership and make a difference where we can. To fight for the girl child, to stand up for women and to make our female employees proud of our contribution.
We have donated over R2 million in sanitary pads. R1 million in donations has come from our customers, the real heroes,” concluded Chris Jnr Da Silva, CEO of West Pack Lifestyle.
