Midrand SPCA rescues two stray dogs

Members of the community are advised to ensure that their animals cannot run out the gates of their property when they are entering or leaving.

The Midrand SPCA received a call recently from the Joburg Road Agency (JRA) informing them of two stray dogs roaming in the area.

The SPCA team headed out to the said location and started searching for the dogs through a site of building materials where they were last seen.

Fortunately, the team arrived in time to prevent any harm to these animals, and eventually, the two dogs were found and taken into care.

“We wish to highlight one of the risks to owners whose animals manage to escape their properties,” stated the SPCA in a statement.

“A number of these animals are found by individuals who do not have their best interest at heart and these animals are in danger of being used for illegal activities.”

Members of the community are encouraged to ensure that their animals are kept safely on their property, check their fences for any holes or damage that might permit an escape route, and ensure that their perimeter walls are tall enough to prevent animals from jumping over them.

Also, members of the community are advised to ensure that their animals cannot run out the gates of their property when they are entering or leaving.

“Thank you, JRA for reporting the matter to us,” concluded the SPCA
