Nothing but passion and fitness for Kerrie

Kerrie Holl of HOLListic sets her target to heal her Parkmore community with the power of fitness.

Kerrie Holl, who is known for being the master of fitness in the Parkmore community, started her fitness journey at George Lea Park with Adventure Boot Camp for Women back in 2007.
Although being in love with fitness, there was a moment in Holl’s life where she took a different route that could’ve jeopardised her purpose.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Holl spent most of her days excelling in every sport that she could lay her hands on. According to Holl, English as a subject had a major impact in her life to the point where it influenced her course decision in tertiary. “I studied journalism at Rhodes for a year because my passion is writing. Unfortunately, I had to go back home to help my father who was battling a serious illness,” said Holl.

As she was caring-aiding to her father, Holl took a few courses related to physical exercises and the anatomy of the body. Once completed, she made her move back to South Africa to begin her professional journey as a fitness trainer with Adventure Boot Camp for Women back in 2007.

HOLListic came into existence once the boot camp reached its conclusion around 2020. Holl’s training method is to give her participants full control on what exercises they enjoy doing, what their goal is and doing it constantly. A complete opposite of your typical trainer. “When you are starting out, consistency is key. You have to train regularly to accomplish your body or fitness goal and if you end up doing something that you don’t like doing, chances are you won’t come back. Taking it slow and being consistent is better than doing everything at one go and burning out.”

The self-motivated trainer mentioned that her father is currently alive and well after his brush with death.

“My philosophy in life has always been to give it your very best in everything that you’re doing, especially for what you believe in. My father showed me that.”
