Bryanston juniors take on club champs

According to the club golf director Darrin Hedley, despite the heavy conditions the scoring was fantastic and the players performed well.

This year’s Bryanston Country Club Junior Championship was not one to miss.

The juniors took to the course on March 21, not only taking on all that course had to offer but also the testing weather conditions.

According to the club golf director Darrin Hedley, despite the heavy conditions the scoring was fantastic.

“[This] shows the strength of our junior section and their commitment to improving their game. We are proud of all the competitors who took part.”

In the end, the honour of this year’s junior club champion went to Jaden Deltel who played an incredibly consistent tournament, after opening his tournament with an eagle and a birdie.

“Jaden posted rounds of 72 and 70 for a two under total of 142, narrowly edging out Enzo Barbaglia who carded the lowest round of the tournament with a 66 in round two to finish on 143,” said Hedley.

The B Division was won by Gareth D’Oyley with a gross score of 85.

“Gareth was managed to hold off last year’s [division] champion Liam Tebbutt with some great golf on the back nine.”

The C Divison came down to the wire with three players scoring 38 points – last year’s division champion Ethan Rowe, Tyghe Muller and Declan Green.

“Declan Green playing in the last flight carded a superb 22 points on the back nine to win the count-out and the title of C Division Champion,” Hedley added.
