Business and community comes together

SANDTON – Local Beryl Porter hopes that by hosting more networking events like this, more people can learn about the community and the park.

It was a morning of exploring the community at the Joining the Dots networking event at Innesfree Park in Sandton.

The free event, hosted by local business Porter and Gomer under its Joining the Dots umbrella, invited business owners, entrepreneurs and residents to walk around the park.

Joining the Dots is a collaborative space allowing like-minded individuals to share ideas, network and grow their businesses.

According to the event’s leader for the morning and avid park-goer Beryl Porter, attendees not only enjoyed exploring the park but also one of the park’s highlights – the Labyrinth.

“It was nice to see everyone enjoying all that the park has to offer. They really enjoyed learning about the Labryinth, fully embracing it.”

She added that her clean-up team was hard work in the days leading up to the event so that the park was able to put its best foot forward.

“We have been sweeping, picking up glass and repainting and renewing the labyrinth at Innisfree Park,” she said.

Unfortunately, due to the vandalisation of the Grayston bridge, attendees were not able to walk on the bridge.

Porter hoped that by hosting more networking events such as this, more people could learn about the community and the park, which was ‘practically hidden in their own backyards.

Keep an eye on the Porter and Gomer website www.portergomer.co.za for the next event.
