Laughter returns to the square with local comedian

SANDTON – Long-time comedian Mark Banks makes a comeback after almost two years in lockdown.

Local comedian Mark Banks continues to leave audiences in a fit of laughter.

In his latest show Mask About Face, showing at the Theatre on the Square from March 2 to 13, Banks is back and funnier than ever as he takes a jab at everyday life both in and out of lockdown.

“Discerning audiences will find everything from Shakespeare to ‘do-it-yourself’ home surgery, caring for your pets in quarantine, how to sell your house without show days, and the world’s first ‘drive through’ funeral,” he said.

With a long history in the South African comedy space, Banks added that he was beyond excited to get back on the stage and share his journey with audiences again.

His range of comedy has covered radio, film and television.

“I have been locked down for two years and I am very excited to finally be back on stage,” said Banks.
