Bryanston Honey Badgers are back in business

BRYANSTON – Bryanston Honey Badgers, also known as Badgers Rugby, is a non-profit organisation affiliated to Golden Lions Youth Rugby and sponsored by local IT firm Winstel Technologies.

It is all systems ago as the Bryanston Honey Badgers prepare to begin their ad hoc pre-season training at the end of February.

According to chairman Anthony Losco, while the official training is only scheduled to begin after the Easter weekend, the club is excited to not only welcome the players back on the pitch but also encourage participation from the community.

“We welcome anyone from all surrounding areas who are interested in learning how to play rugby to join us on our top-class, beautifully maintained training fields at St Stithians College.”

Bryanston Honey Badgers, also known as Badgers Rugby, is a non-profit organisation affiliated with Golden Lions Youth Rugby and sponsored by local IT firm Winstel Technologies. All of the club’s coaches are minimum IRB-1 qualified and really passionate about youth rugby and rugby coaching.

Losco added that this year the club is looking to expand its family-friendly programme for boys and girls, alongside hosting special events such as Friday night friendlies, fun days and coaching events.

“It will also focus on growing its older age groups, especially among female players, so it can consistently field full teams right across the spectrum,” adds Losco.

“Interested players are invited to check the training schedule and just come on over with their own water bottle and gum guard. We promise they will leave with new skills, awesome new friends, a sense of belonging and most importantly, a smile.”

Games are scheduled to begin in the government schools’ third term.
