Class of 2021 celebrate their achievements after a tough year in matric

The Sandton Chronicle visited many schools around the neighbourhood to capture the special moments. All of our schools should be proud of their achievements.

For thousands of matriculants this has been the week they have been waiting for. The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) released their results on January 19 with the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results revealed on January 21.

IEB achieved an overall 98.39% pass rate while NSC ended with 76.4% which is an increase of 0.2% when compared to 2020. The Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga announced that Gauteng’s pass rate was 82.8% making it the second-highest province.
