Eskom has announced it will conduct an emergency shutdown of the Bryanston substation on January 20 from 11:30 to 15:00.
In a social media post at 11:33, the power utility noted that the emergency shutdown would allow it to remove a compromised tower.
The emergency shutdown of the Bryanston substation is to remove a tower that might fall and cause possible injuries and damage to the infrastructure.
