Crawford Sandton is thankful for its community

BENMORE – According to head of the college Tracey Purkiss, if this year was anything to go by, her excitement for the year ahead evident.

The heads of Crawford International Sandton reflect on the unique journey that was 2021.

At the pre-preparatory school, school head Lucinda Pinto said that it has been humbling to see the resilience that three to six-year-olds possessed to adapt to a learning environment that is very different to what one usually finds in a pre-school setting.

“The children’s innocent giggles and laughter, and their ability to love no matter what, is a daily reminder of the reason I chose to become a teacher in the first place.”

She added that the learners are preparing for a future world that is unknown, and yet they face it fearlessly with a sense of wonder, curiosity and inquiry.

Over at the preparatory school, school head Ryan Haigh shared his gratitude for all the hard work that the learners and teachers have put in at the preparatory school throughout the year.

“I am so proud of what they [the learners] have learnt, and I thank their teachers for facilitating this part of their learning journey. I can’t wait for 2022 but before that, we wish our families a safe, happy and restful holiday period,” said Haigh.
