Michael Mount steals 2021 spotlight

BRYANSTON – The school looks forward to celebrating the Grade 12 results next year, followed by the welcoming of the Grade 1 learners to the school's Rose Ceremony and lastly, the school anticipates increasing their territory.

As the year [2021] reaches its final days, Michael Mount Waldorf School reflects on some of the highlights from the beginning to the end of the year.

The direct and indirect disturbance of the Covid-19 pandemic did not slow Michal Mount down. Productivity and spirits were at an all-time high as their expectation lists of having a successful year were all met. The Grade 12 learners were all given the opportunity to do their final walk around the school which is a known signing-off tradition in most schools – some learners were struck by a strong sense of flashbacks as they stood reminiscing of the past.

The U13 basketball boys were the main stars of the 2021 show as they dished out a handful of defeat to schools during their tournaments which were hosted at St John’s College and Kearsney College, the team remains undefeated and in search of more victims next year. Other highlights included the resuming of the Grade 11 and Grade 12 camp trip to the Drakensberg and the vegetable garden that was constructed by the learners of Grade 3.

“We are drawing to the end of yet another year and what a roller-coaster year it has been; nevertheless, we have triumphed. The human being is resilient, and it is incumbent upon us to learn from the experiences we have had so that transformation can be positive,” concluded the principal, William Bester.
