Happy holidays from Sandton VEP

MORNINGSIDE – If there are any members of the community looking to give back this season, the programme is on the lookout for new volunteers to join its dynamic team.

The volunteers at the Sandton Victim Empowerment Programme (VEP) would like to wish the community a safe and happy holiday season ahead.

The dedicated group of counsellors offer a free-of-charge service to victims of a crime who have been left traumatised and may require counselling.

According to training coordinator Su Mills, this is a special time for family and family.

“Take this time to appreciate and nurture the relationships you have, to care for each other and be grateful for having survived the many challenges of 2021.”

Residents are encouraged to practise kindness as any act of kindness, a friendly word or two, can change someone’s day for the better, she said.

“Be safe on the roads if you are travelling and if you are lucky enough to be going away on holiday, enjoy, have fun and laugh; laughter is really good for the soul!”
