Delay in football tournament leads to an advantage for unvaccinated players

SANDHURST – Discovery saw the delay as an opportunity to offer participants who have not received their vaccination a chance to get their shot in order to participate in the tournament

Discovery alerted the general public that the 18th Discovery Walter Sisulu Soccer Challenge to be hosted at Nike Shapa Soweto would no longer start on December 8 but on December 13 due to logistical challenges that the company faced.

Discovery saw the delay as an opportunity to offer participants who have not received their vaccination a chance to get their shot in order to participate in the tournament.

A few changes have been made with no spectators allowed and all participants were required to have their vaccination cards with them including members of the media.

The tournament is set to have 76 teams playing and would continue to run under strict Covid-19 regulations. For more information on the tournament go to https://bit.ly/DWSSC_Draw
