Sergeant Rama Trevor ready to serve and protect Sandton communities

MORNINGSIDE – The police officer has viewed the new change as an opportunity to further evolve and connect with communities

Residents in Sector 1, worry not, for there’s a new lawman to look after you. Sergeant Rama Trevor, who has been working for the Sandton Police Force since 2019, was recently appointed to assist residents in Sector 1.

The sergeant has already made his presence known to community members and looks forward to restoring peace.

Trevor was over the moon when he got the news of assisting his fellow police officers in Sector 1 from November 1. The police officer has viewed the new change as an opportunity to further evolve and connect with communities.

Before joining Sandton in 2019, Trevor started his professional career as a police officer in KwaZulu-Natal around 2004 where he developed his skills for 17 years. The officer has never been a stranger to the world of policing even at an early age as most of his family members were police officers. Trevor is currently the sixth person in his family who has worked for the police force.

“Every person that enters the police station holds a painful story to share. For us as police officers, we have to ensure that we help our communities, especially victims of crime. We assist by working hard, making communities safe and happy, and being patient. My number one priority, besides my family, is my community in which I serve with a smile every day. I don’t regret anything, especially when it comes to my line of work – my office is open for everyone,” said Trevor.

Sandton Police Station’ spokesperson Captain Bheki Xulu was one of the people who encouraged the sergeant to assist in Sector 1 as he was fully experienced for the new challenge.

“He [Trevor] has a great police background and has always been a hard worker who really cares about the people. The role of his position is to actively communicate and engage with the communities: to warn them on crime trends around the area, ways to prevent themselves from being victims of crime and to also protect them by any means necessary.”
