A reality check which society needs to address came in a form of a discussion at the Futurespace offices in Sandton.

Future Females invited members of the community to join them and two guest speakers for a discussion based on female empowerment on October 28.

Coordinator and one of the ambassadors of the organisation, Thulisile Muthle, briefly discussed the agenda of the event. “We have our discussion once a month. Today’s discussion was based on leadership and building relationships in the working environment, that was the theme for the entire month [of October]. The other thing that we pushed today was educating our participants on how to transition from being an employee to becoming a leader. Kerry Morris and Veronica King, who were our guest speakers for the evening shared their own journey into leadership,” said Muthle.

The discussion which was led by the two guest speakers opened up a platform for participants to engage as they asked questions.

CEO and founder of Emuthini consulting, Veronica King, said, “As a leader, I am really mindful of my rank. When we speak about rank, power and titles, there is no right or wrong. No good or bad, it is how it is used followed by being mindful of the people you are leading. Be mindful of how you communicate, interact and impact your team. It is the team that builds the organisation.”
