KRAMERVILLE – "Investment challenge is a programme that the JSE runs to help educate the youth on financial literacy. We offer both high school and university students a platform to compete in this challenge," says Ralph Speirs.

The prize-giving of year’s annual Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Investment Challenge was held in Kramerville on October 22.

The challenge, which has been running fort 48 years, primarily focuses on educating learners and university students on the importance of finance through practical methods of handling money. The prize giving was held in Kramerville on October 22.

The participants from all over the country were challenged by JSE to put their money where their mouth is and were required to make a profit through their investment decision making.

CSI officer of the JSE, Ralph Speirs said, “The investment challenge is a programme that the JSE runs to help educate the youth on financial literacy… You get given one million rand virtual funds and the teams from the selected schools or university will then decide on which JSE registered companies they would invest their funds in.

I for one believe that it is one of the ways in which you secure your financial independence. I thank every mentor, teacher, parent, and learner during the course of the challenge.
