Walkers invited to special Sandton SPCA and Friends of Sandspruit walk

SANDTON – All dog-lovers are invited to participate in the upcoming Howl ‘O Ween Walk, organised by the Sandton SPCA and Friends of Sandspruit.

Sandton SPCA, with Friends of Sandspruit, will host a Howl ‘O Ween Walk from Ernest Ullman Park, 1 Alma Road, Morningside on October 31 from 07:30 to 11.30.

Residents are invited to join for a fun morning out with their furry friends and family. Wilna Lamb, external relations manager for Sandton SPCA, said walking one’s dog regularly provided a basic foundation for physical and mental health. “If he or she is confined to the house for too long, your dog will get bored, and boredom can lead to destructive behaviour,” she said.

“Your dog is dependent on you to take them out to explore the sights, smells, and sounds of the world.”
She has advised residents to always ensure dogs have a good fitness harness and lead when going out for a walk.

“Do not walk your dog when it is very hot as their paws can burn, and take along water and allow many breaks during the walk. Not only is it good for your dog it is good for you.”

Tickets are R50 per dog and can be purchased on Quicket or at the event.
