Petervale shooting: Man shot five times in the upper body

PETERVALE – The victim is currently in a nearby hospital.

UPDATE 09:27:

Sandton Police Station, Captain Bheki Xulu has confirmed that a man was shot on the corner of Witkoppen and Cambridge roads, Petervale at 07:00 on October 18. 

According to Bheki, the victim, who is currently in hospital, was shot five times in the upper body. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.

He added that the suspects were driving a silver/grey bakkie with an unknown registration number. A case of an attempted murder has been opened for further investigation.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a man was shot on Cambridge Road, Petervale this morning on October 18.

Traffic has been diverted. Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, Captain Bheki Xulu said that police are still busy on scene.

The Sandton Chronicle has contacted SAPS Provincial Police and Metro police.
