Organisation focuses on the future of South Africa

SANDTON – Student Nhlakanipho Yende says the organisation 'invests in you as a person and not just as a student'.

Every run starts with a step and every organisation starts with a reason.

The reason for Mad2Adventures existing is based on intelligent scholars such as Nhlakanipho Yende and Seropane Lesoka who were this year’s guests of honour during the annual challenge on October 8.

Shaun Raaff, founder of Mad2Adventures, welcomed Yende to the floor to give a speech that melted the hearts of every individual at the venue. The 19-year-old who is currently in her second year at the University of the Witwatersrand, shared how the organisation has made a huge impact on the lives of many scholars.

“Being part of the Mad Foundation has been great. As a person I have experienced fundamental growth, the organisation invests in you as a person and not just as a student. Even though I am doing something that could lead me into corporate, in 10 years time, I think business would be the ideal thing for me,” said Yende.

Last year, Mad2Adventures did a campaign that challenged some of the scholars to run with the participants. Lesoka ran 15km a day for seven days – surprising even professional runners at the event.
