Sponsor a seat – keep the theatre alive

SANDTON – The money raised from the fundraising campaign will help towards running costs and re-opening of the theatre.

After a successful crowdfunding effort earlier this year, Theatre on the Square is pleased to announce that the theatre still has 70 of its 200 seats left to be sponsored.

After a tough period for the theatre due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the theatre is fighting to stay alive. For only R1 200 you can have your name inscribed on a plaque/name plate on the back a theatre seat for a year.

Theatre on the Square plans to re-open with new productions in early 2022. Your name will signify your valued support of the historic theatre and the arts. It will also indicate that you are one of their very special theatre patrons who has helped the team plan a way forward.

Not only will you have your name dedicated to a theatre seat, but you will automatically become a member of the theatre club and receive 50% discounts on selected tickets for the year. You will also receive the theatre’s newsletters to keep you updated with all the entertainment, plays, comedies, musicals, concerts and cultural events.

This is a chance to become a patron for 2022. “It is our goal to have all the theatre seats sold, with the names of all our friends of the theatre. A seat can be sponsored in your name, your company’s name, in the name of someone special as a gift – or dedicated to the memory of a loved one,” said theatre producer, owner and artistic director, Daphne Kuhn.

The money raised from the fundraising campaign will help towards running costs and re-opening of the theatre. Become a seat sponsor by contacting Daphne Kuhn on theatreonthesquare@gmail.com or on 083 377 4969.
