Brescia House take pride in their environment

BRYANSTON – According to Grade 11 learner Megan Froneman, participating in the clean was both a fun and eye-opening experience.

The learners from Brescia House School continue to go above for their surrounding community.

A group of learners ventured to the Paulshof Spruit Park on September 25 in honour of World Rivers Day to do their part in keeping the environment clean.

Each year, on World Rivers Day, millions of people from more than 100 countries participate in a mass clean up to increase public awareness on the importance of rivers.

According to Grade 11 learner Megan Froneman, participating in the clean was both a fun and eye-opening experience.

“[It] showed us how much litter you could find [and] we were shocked that we filled up multiple bags.

“It was a great activity to do, and one that left me feeling fulfilled, not only by helping the community and the environment but also through being able to spend time doing something meaningful with other people in my grade,” said she.

Megan would highly recommend that members of the community take some time out of their day, pick up a waste bag and head over to their nearest river site to collect an litter and debris.
