Projects which shape learners to follow their dreams

BRYANSTON – "The process, like any other, had its ups and downs, and some days I was ready to give up, some days I felt inspired, but all in all, it was beautiful," says Virginia-Rose Raulo

The Grade 11s of Michael Mount Waldorf School displayed their projects to their classmates and teachers from September 13 to 15.

The projects were based on learners picking one subject which captivated them, meaning that each learner was required to choose a subject that was related to their project ideas.

Each learner was given a high school teacher as a personal mentor and an external mentor who was an expert in the subject which they chose to carry out their projects at a rigorous standard.

“When I began my project, I couldn’t have imagined how many lessons it would have taught me and how much growth I would have attained. The process, like any other, had its ups and downs, and some days I was ready to give up, some days I felt inspired, but all in all it was beautiful.
“Waldorf education allows for many opportunities that are unique and allow us to pursue many things which other students do not get the chance to. This project is an example of one of these opportunities which I can say I am truly grateful for,” said Virginia-Rose.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all project presentations were streamed online for public viewing.
