According to reports on social media, an accident involving a tanker and two vehicles has caused severe traffic on the N1 northbound towards Rivonia.
Shocking videos and photos show multi-vehicles that were allegedly involved in the accident with a petrol tanker on September 28.
Update: 10:45, two pass away
Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar confirmed that the driver of the Golf which was engulfed in flames has passed away. He was declared deceased on arrival at the hospital.
The passenger also passed away at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital.
The driver of the petrol tanker and the white Polo, Minnaar confirmed are both currently being treated in hospital.
