Wild Lion turns 100

BRYANSTON – Over the years at the club, Lee Copper arranged various food collections for those in need, liaised outings for handicapped people and many other community projects.

The Johannesburg Wild Lions Club celebrated the 100th birthday of its founding member, Dr Les Cooper.

The Bryanston resident, who celebrated his birthday on September 21, has served the Sandton community for over 50 years as both a doctor and founding member of the Wild Lions.

According to the current club president Mark Meltzer, Cooper has been part of the club since April 1962.

“Although I have only been a member of the Wild Lions for 10 years, he [Cooper] was very active for at least 50 years.”

Over the years at the club Copoer arranged various food collections for those in need, liaised outings for handicapped people and many other community projects.

He has also been honoured by the club for his continued commitment to the community.
