SANDOWN – In anticipation of the reopening, the multi-sport facility continues to maintain a strict and diligent health and safety precautions to keep everyone safe.

Strict health and safety protocols continue to be upheld at the Sandton Action Sports arena as it prepares to once again welcome the community.

The arena, which was forced to abruptly close as the adjusted Level four lockdown regulations came into effect, has been working hard to ensure that it is ready to reopen and welcome its teams and once again host matches.

According to general manager Gavin Webster, all of the staff has taken a hard hit during the stricter lockdown as the arena was not able to operate.

“All [the] staff remained at home with some managing to catch up with maintenance and surviving [by] doing odd jobs for extra cash,” he said.

Webster added that with the move to adjusted Level three from July 26, he hoped that the arena would be allowed to operate once again.

In anticipation of the reopening, the multi-sport facility continues to maintain strict and diligent health and safety precautions to keep everyone safe as it is an indoor facility.

The temperatures and contact details of people are taken at the door for tracing and there are also 12 hand sanitising stations across the arena for the players. Social distancing markers are also in place across the facility.

“All sport is a frustration reliever and [it] helps us keep fit and healthier. We are a social being and need the safe interaction with others. “Sport teaches and humbles us all in many spheres in life.

“Sandton Action Sports offers many opportunities in a number of sports, sports coaching and exercise opportunities. We want our players to pitch up, play, have fun and try to get back to some form of normality in life.”
