A number of retailers and shopping centres across Sandton and Bryanston are open for business today (July 13).
According to Sandton City Shopping Centre on Twitter, additional security measures have been put in place to prioritise the safety and security of its shoppers and tenants.
The shopping centre has resumed trading as normal.
Sandton City is aware of the ongoing violent protests taking place in and around Johannesburg. After consultation with its security services, the mall has resumed normal trading, under COVID-19 regulations. 1/3

“However, the decision has been made to offer tenants optional trade, due to staffing challenges as a result of road closures,” said the centre on social media.
Individuals looking to visit the centre are advised to contact the relevant store beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Benmore Centre also resumed trading today, following a false alarm threat of looting yesterday which saw various shops close early as a precaution.

Today, however, the centre has resumed trading.
According to the centre management, while the centre is open a number of tenants have opted to remain closed.
Shoppers are once again encouraged to contact the relevant stores beforehand.
The following shopping centres in the area are currently open for trade:
– Epsom Downs Shopping Centre
– Hyde Park Corner
– Nicolway Bryanston
– Morningside Shopping Centre
