Three victims robbed outside Sandton hotel

SANDTON – A case of armed robbery is under investigation by Sandton police.

Valuables with an estimated value of more than R300 000 were stolen during an armed robbery outside of a Sandton hotel on 20 June.

According to Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Bheki Xulu, the incident took place at the entrance of the hotel on Katherine Street at about 3.30pm.

“The complainant claims that he was with his two brothers when three unknown males, who were driving a white Kia, robbed them at gunpoint.”

It was reported that a Rolex watch, two cell phones, car keys and clothing were taken – the items are estimated to be valued at R322 000.

Xulu said a case of armed robbery was under investigation by Sandton police.
