Successful winter drive for Rotary Morningside
MORNINGSIDE – The food went toward the centre’s feeding scheme which has been running every day over the last year.
The Rotary Club of Morningside continues to share the warmth of the community this winter.
Members of the club recently had a successful Winter Warmers collection drive at the Morningside Shopping Centre just before the cold winter set in.
According to the club’s secretary Jane Royal the residents came out to support the drive by donating an array of foods, warm clothing, blankets and money. “For every R80 collected, a quality blanket was purchased,” she said.
At the end of the day, the donations filled just over three trollies. The items were then handed over to the Diepsloot Oratile Early Childhood Development Centre’s Abram Kgari for the families and children at the centre.
The food went toward the centre’s feeding scheme which has been running every day over the last year. “The Club would like to thank the community for, once again, opening up their hearts and donating so generously.”
