Bramley police arrest suspect following the death of his girlfriend

MARLBORO – Mogodi said that a 30-year-old suspect, who was the boyfriend of the deceased, will appear in court soon.

Bramley police have arrested one male suspect following the death of a woman in Marlboro.

The spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station Captain Molefe Mogodi said that police were called to a crime scene on 30 May following the discovery of the body of a woman.

“It is alleged that the deceased, who was the girlfriend of the suspect, was found in the room she shared with the suspect,” said Mogodi.

He explained that the suspect was not there at the time when the police arrived.

“The paramedics were summoned to the scene to examine the body. She was then declared dead by the paramedics.”

Mogodi said that unconfirmed information revealed to police that the deceased and the suspect allegedly had a fight during the night of the killing.

“The case was then opened and investigated by detectives at the station. Police finally made a breakthrough when the suspect was traced and arrested in Alexandra.”

Mogodi said that the 30-year-old suspect will appear in court soon.
