Giving female leaders a voice to inspire

BRYANSTON – Over 5 000 copies of the print version of the book will be provided for free to a number of Facebook’s local training partners, schools and other beneficiaries across 15 countries.

Facebook Africa brings the voices of aspiring female leaders to your fingertips.

In celebration of International Women’s Month and the power of women everywhere, the Bryanston-based branch launched its LeadHER: Life Lessons From African Women compilation.

This is a book filled with beautiful and inspired stories and life advice from 19 women who are breaking boundaries in their fields of expertise; this includes industries in media, entertainment, policies, education and business.

Available from free in both digital and physical format, the book provides a collection of inspirational real-life stories for future generations and young leaders – each chapter focusing on a personal experience and/or life lesson about how these powerful women navigated their journey to success along with the challenges that they had to endure and overcome along the way.

According to regional director Nunu Ntshingila, LeadHER: Life Lessons From African Women ultimately aims to encourage, inspire and guide readers no matter their age, background or ambition.

“At Facebook we know that African women are at the helm of shaping the future of our promising continent – they are change makers, mothers and CEOs. This book is a celebration of just some of the exceptional African women who in their own right are trail-blazers, motivating and inspiring people and advocating for good across Africa, and the world,” said Ntshingila.

Over 5 000 copies of the print version of the book will be provided for free to a number of Facebook’s local training partners, schools and other beneficiaries across 15 countries, including South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Senegal and Kenya – in schools and to beneficiaries.

“We’re excited about their individual stories, inspired by challenges they’ve endured and how they’ve risen above these, and importantly how they’ve turned these into important life lessons to help inspire others,” Ntshingila concluded.
