From the United States with love

HYDE PARK – Getting to know Zuri Hall as she hires Sandton agency.

Emmy Award-winning TV personality, producer, writer, and actress Zuri Hall wants to make her presence known in South Africa.

The American entertainment reporter and personality has hired South African agency Jarred Doyle Consulting, based in Hyde Park, as she expands her footprint to Africa.

She first visited South Africa in 2017 and fell in love with it instantly.

“I immediately fell in love with everything about my experience and I have always appreciated how warmly I was welcomed; I also returned for the Vodacom Durban July, the following year. During my first stay in South Africa, I was also introduced to Jarred and we hit it off immediately. We have kept in touch ever since!”

She said that she has always wanted to explore more opportunities to collaborate with other creatives here.

“From the very limited time that I’ve been able to spend on the ground here, it was immediately clear – the abundance of unique talent and culture. I loved my experiences, the people I met, and I’m excited to share that with my audience, and personally, to also create new experiences and relationships.”

With all the warmth, vibrancy and culture, Hall said that it was special and unique, unlike any place she had ever been before. Loving the fashion she mentioned how expressive it can be.

“There’s so much colour, and so many beautiful prints and patterns. Fashion is one of my favourite ways to make a statement, and I love what I’ve seen – not just from local designers but also everyday people.”

In terms of expanding her brand here in SA, Hall’s podcast Happy Hot Mess will include South African women’s stories in the future.

“A big part of Hot Happy Mess is me making sure I share the platform to highlight inspiring stories from real, everyday women. A lot of content one makes can immediately reach the entire world. So creating space for that cultural exchange is something I look forward to.”

Hall said that her show is all about celebrating one’s magic in the middle of life’s messes.

“It’s about learning to embrace the ‘hot’, ‘happy’, and ‘mess’ of our lives all at the same time, instead of putting off our living for some yet-to-be-determined date when things are all right again.”

Doing just that, Hall said that she is excited to visit Africa’s richest square mile later on this year with some exciting surprises in store.
