Almost two years after charges were laid, the trial of former Bryanston High School sports coach finally gets under way at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
According to National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwana, the trial began on 18 January whereby the accused pleaded not guilty to counts of common assault, sexual assault and rape.
Previously reported by the Chronicle in an article titled Allegation of sexual misconduct at Bryanston High School [published online on 29 January 2019], the coach was arrested on 17 January 2019 after a case of various sexual offences was opened at the Sandton Police Station by a learner from the school.
