Happy New Year from the Randburg police

RANDBURG – The Randburg police wish residents a safe and prosperous festive season and a happy new year.

Randburg Police Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones would like to wish Randburg residents a safe and prosperous festive season and a happy new year:

On behalf of the police and staff members of the Randburg Police Station, I would like to wish the community and our external partners a very peaceful festive season with family and friends.
This time of year does, however, bring with it some significant challenges. In December and January, we always see a rise in predictable types of crime.
Communities and businesses are urged to be vigilant and increase security where possible.
We often see a rise in random thefts from cars, shops, sheds and businesses.
My message is to take sensible precautions.
Please keep yourselves safe; think about how much you may be drinking, as alcohol leads to accidents and fatalities on the road.
Drivers are cautioned not to drink and drive.
Community members are urged to keep their valuables safely hidden and to lock all doors and windows.
When leaving malls, be vigilant of your surroundings to ensure you are not being followed home.
In the spirit of Christmas, I would like to appeal to all of us to lend a helping hand to fellow humanity by sharing and showing compassion, especially to the vulnerable among us.
To the members of the Randburg Police Station, thank you for your efforts, support, commitment and dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.
I wish to thank everybody in our communities for the work they have done this year to ensure that we succeeded in our goals in 2021.
Happy 2021!
