Many privileged schools and individual learners grew concerned about the needs of the poor during lockdown, with hundreds of food parcels being distributed across the country. The Chronicle also highlighted the achievements of many learners who stood head and shoulders above the rest in various disciplines. Curro Rivonia learner Kamvalethu Jonas was even selected to take on a supporting role in a local film while Grade 1 learner Rannveer Tak was celebrated for gaining victory over much older chess opponents .
