Alleged CIT heist leaves part of N3 highway temporarily closed

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Wayne Minnaar confirmed that officers had to block off a section of the highway after 6pm. 

The N3 south highway was temporarily closed off between Marlboro Drive and London Road on 26 September due to alleged cash in transit (CIT) heist.

“JMPD officers had to divert traffic to Modderfontein onramp as well as the M1,” said Minnaar.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) are expected to release an official statement soon.
