Covid-19 cases in Joburg’s Region E surpass 10 000

JOBURG – The City of Johannesburg recorded 62 320 Covid-19 cases as of 22 July.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that the number of Covid-19 cases in Johannesburg’s Region E has reached 10 288 as of 22 July.

The region, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, recorded 5 071 recoveries.

Also in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, Region B recorded 6 761 cases and 4 040 recoveries.

Suburbs in the region include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The City of Johannesburg recorded 62 320 cases and 35 970 recoveries while 425 people have lost their lives.

The district remains at the epicentre of the infections in the province.
