Two suspects appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 29 June for charges of possession of clothing worth R16 000.

Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer said that the suspects were allegedly found in possession of the stolen clothing after security officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious motor vehicle at one of the entrances of a shopping centre in Sandton on 26 June.

“After searching the vehicle, they [security officers] found three plastic bags with new clothing,” said Meyer. He added that the suspects were unable to provide an explanation as to where they purchased the clothing as well as provide any proof of payment.
