The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation today (1 July) stood in solidarity with the Africa 4 Palestine movement in a protest outside of the US Consulate in Sandton.
The group stood in opposition to Israel’s planned annexation of more than 30 per cent of Palestinian.

According to the foundation, the US government is one of the main driving forces and sponsors of the annexation.
“We as a civil society support our government and the African Union’s opposition to the annexation. We furthermore support the call by the South Africa Council of Churches for sanctions to be imposed on the Israeli regime for its annexation of Palestinian land,” said the foundation in a statement.
