Individuals and organisations have been showing support to those in need during these difficult times and continue to do so.

Donation centre and non-profit organisation, Kids Haven received much-appreciated help and donations from their supporters. The organisation received masks and shields from the Islamic Medical Association of South Africa, East Rand branch. The association is a national organisation with branches in various parts of the country.

Waheeda and Zaheer Essop of the association visited Kids Haven on 28 May to donate more than 200 cloth masks and as many face shields as they needed. Fundraising coordinator Kids haven Susan Daly said, “We are using them [masks] for our food parcel relief work in the communities of Benoni, eMandleni, eTwatwa and other areas around Benoni. “Kids Haven is especially grateful for this large donation of essential PPE [personel protective equipment] for our children in care and community.

Their donation is directly ensuring the protection of vulnerable children during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have seen the need and filled this gap, thank you.”

Kids Haven remains open for donations and appeals to those who can make a difference to do so.
